kanpur

It is a common adage that “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” but I think this statement does not apply to Kanpur. The people have sacrificed their lives in living this dirt and trash. Wherever you go you will find a heap of garbage lying aside the road. Is this true picture of Kanpur? Govt doesn’t pay heed to any of these things. Due to monsoon showers things have got worse. The Times of India clearly quoted

“With the beginning of monsoon season there is a rise in water-borne diseases. Who should be blamed for stagnating water on roads, stinking heaps of garbage following the accumulation of drain water and choked streets turning breeding ground for mosquitoes.”

The negligence on part of KNN authorities has affected lives of common man badly. How a person can live in such an unhygienic conditions? Don’t we know unhygienic condition can cause many diseases like malaria, Lyme disease etc?
According to Reuter News Agency, Kanpur is considered as major centre for leather products and textiles. The city has a booming steel, chemicals, two-wheelers, engineering, and fertilizer industries. There are numerous small- and medium-scale enterprises in the city.

A throbbing financial nerve centre in UP, in Kanpur you will find enormous banks. The city's locational advantage, the available appointments of skilled manpower, good educational institutions, fairly developed infrastructure, etc. What's more, it is proud of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology. Its GDP is approx 17 Billion but then also it is a neglected city. It’s like child which have no parents. Govt is not ready to pay any heed to its development then why we are paying our precious money as taxes. Why Lucknow is being developed by leaps and bounds and Kanpur stands first and foremost in unhygienic conditions, poor infrastructure and dugged up roads. I think we should all raise slogan “Clean Kanpur, Green Kanpur”. The citizens should take responsibility on their shoulders and try not to spit on roads. The PPP (Public Private Partnership) should be formed to remove unhygienic conditions that are pestering each and every one of us. Govt should take concrete steps as Kanpur is also part of UP hence attention should be given to this city too.
